[00:00:01] SNAP benefits are set to expire starting November 1st due to the ongoing federal government shutdown, the MAGA federal government shutdown and the USDA's refusal to use its 5 to 6 billion dollars in contingency fund to extend payment to SNAP, essentially taking money for food away from over 40 million Americans.

[00:00:40] I'm Hoosier Blue and I have something to say.
[00:00:47] Let's get at it.
[00:00:56] SNAP is an acronym for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, also known as food stamps. There are 41.7 million participants in the SNAP program.
[00:01:13] 12.3% of the population in this country receive SNAP benefits.
[00:01:22] These numbers do not include undocumented immigrants because undocumented immigrants do not receive SNAP benefits nor can they apply for SNAP benefits.
[00:01:39] This is a bold face bullshit lie being pushed and put forth by maga.
[00:01:47] Another racist narrative. Have you ever noticed that any time that we question them on anything that they do or decision of theirs or they present some fake scenario to us as a problem, they always blame it on immigrants and immigration.
[00:02:09] The exact thing that has built our country from its infancy.
[00:02:16] Now let's talk money.
[00:02:18] The annual cost to fund snap is $99.8 billion. And I admit that is a hefty number, there is no doubt about it. But let me share with you some other hefty numbers that might just blow your mind for the sake of comparison.
[00:02:41] The current US military budget is approximately $850 billion.
[00:02:50] That is an increase of 4.1% from 2023.
[00:02:56] The current ICE budget stands at $150 billion, making it the third largest military budget in the world.
[00:03:11] The latest tax cut extension contained in the billionaires friendly MAGA joke of a big bullshit bill passed and signed into law on July 4 is projected to reduce federal revenue by 4.5 to $5 trillion through 2034, putting profit over people.
[00:03:38] And this is exactly why programs like SNAP and many others in this country are being defunded and done away with. Because they need to make up for the lost revenue caused by their extension of the tax cut rates to the billionaires.
[00:03:55] This is the whole reason for all of this happening now. Also included in that bullshit bill was nearly $1 trillion in cuts for Medicaid.
[00:04:07] Overall those cuts targeted the ACA tax credits, state provider tax arrangements that fund Medicaid on the state level, State directed Medicaid payments, rural Medicaid spending, which will put almost 400 rural hospitals in danger of closing and eliminating the ability to negotiate future drug pricing with Big Pharma.
[00:04:36] So they not only want to starve people in this country, they want to strip away proper health care from us.
[00:04:45] They want us to be hungry and sick.
[00:04:49] This is what authoritarians do in order to control a populace.
[00:04:55] And that is what they are doing.
[00:04:57] This is their design plan.
[00:04:59] This is what's laid out in Project 2025.
[00:05:04] Now it is estimated that 47's personal wealth has increased by a staggering $6.9 billion in the last 10 months due partly to his launching of his cryptocurrency World Liberty Financial, which prior to its launching, he rolled back crypto regulations and signed favorable legislation directly benefiting his holdings.
[00:05:34] It's also been reported that he received another $1.2 billion in revenue from three other crypto ventures launched after his re election.
[00:05:48] It has also been revealed that he has accepted numerous bribes in exchange for presidential pardons.
[00:05:57] He has secured golf resort and hotel deals in Vietnam and Indonesia. He continues to use his own properties to house foreign dignitaries and federal employees while charging the US Government inflated prices. He has accepted numerous undisclosed gifts and monies from foreign countries and acquaintances.
[00:06:24] A jet was given to him by Qatar that he claimed was a gift to the United States.
[00:06:31] It is currently undergoing an extensive renovation that will cost in excess of $1 billion.
[00:06:40] And now it is being reported that it will be used for travel needs for his presidential library.
[00:06:52] I mean, you can't make this shit up.
[00:06:55] It sounds like a personal gift to me. What do you think?
[00:06:59] He gave Argentina $40 billion to assist a corrupt bootlicker and winning his election while further decimating the agricultural farming industry in the process.
[00:07:13] And then he announced that we should start buying beef from Argentina to help reduce American beef prices.
[00:07:23] So he's going after the cattle producers also.
[00:07:27] I mean, this guy hates the American farmer, but you know, they all voted for him, so I have very little empathy for them right now.
[00:07:39] And now he has demolished the east wing of the White House in four days to build an elaborate authoritarian symbol of opulence at an estimated cost of $300 million, which I can guarantee will increase as time goes on, while at the same time demanding a $230 million payment from DOJ for what he claims is reimbursement for unlawful investigations.
[00:08:12] Yet MAGA can't find the money to fund SNAP and continue to assist millions of Americans with feeding themselves.
[00:08:22] MAGA would rather see people starve than. Than to assist them profit over people.
[00:08:31] The corruption coming out of this administration, along with the hate, pain and suffering being inflicted on so many people living in this country, is unprecedented. How anyone can Be okay with what is going on is beyond me. I will never understand it. How anyone can support this administration.
[00:08:54] So let's get back to the facts that surround SNAP and those who receive the benefits.
[00:09:01] Each individual who receives SNAP on average receives $1,872.20 per month.
[00:09:13] That is $2,246.40 per year. That seems like an extremely reasonable number to make sure that an individual is guaranteed to put food in their belly.
[00:09:31] At least it does to me.
[00:09:33] Now what are those ages of Those who receive SNAP?
[00:09:38] Well, adults 19 to 59 are the largest group of recipients at 40.
[00:09:45] Children under 18 are 39%.
[00:09:50] Adults 60 and older are 19%.
[00:09:54] Households with earned income are 28%. And overall 55% of those households are with children.
[00:10:05] Households with unearned income like Social Security recipients are 61%.
[00:10:12] Households with no income at all are 20%.
[00:10:17] Now when you start looking at the race or ethnicity of the people who receive SNAP benefits, and I will say this once again, it is not undocumented immigrants who are taking advantage of the system.
[00:10:35] Undocumented immigrants cannot receive SNAP benefits, nor can they apply for SNAP benefits.
[00:10:45] So who is receiving snap benefits? Well, 35.4% are white, 25.7% are black, 15.6% are Hispanic, 3.9% are Asian, 1 point are Native American and 1% are multiracial. And then 17% of recipients, their race is unknown.
[00:11:16] So white Americans are the largest recipients of SNAP benefits, not undocumented immigrants.
[00:11:26] So let me take this one step further for you.
[00:11:30] 89.4% of SNAP recipients are US born citizens, 10.6% are foreign born individuals, 6.2% are naturalized citizens, 1.1% are refugees, and 3.3% are lawful permanent residents and other eligible non citizens.
[00:11:56] Natural born American citizens are are by far the largest recipients of SNAP benefits, not undocumented immigrants.
[00:12:10] Now let's dive deeper into this.
[00:12:14] Over 1.1 million U.S. military veterans and more than 20,000 active duty military families currently receive SNAP benefits.
[00:12:29] Roughly 1 in 14 veterans under the age of 65 rely on SNAP benefits.
[00:12:38] Over 40% of veterans that receive SNAP benefits are disabled.
[00:12:45] 33% of those are over the age of 65. 213,009 National Guard and Reserve members receive SNAP benefits.
[00:13:00] This is absolutely alarming and disturbing that so many of those who served our country have to rely on a government program in order to eat.
[00:13:16] That's not even counting the over $17 billion that was stripped away from the VA that was contained in the bullshit billionaires Bill when it comes to rural America, our farmers, I could not find exact numbers of how many of them receive SNAP benefits. Although reading many studies, it is estimated that tens of thousands, ranging from 20,000 to 50,000 depending on the source, are the estimated numbers of farmers and farm workers who receive SNAP benefits, especially in states like Mississippi, Arkansas, Kentucky and West Virginia that have high poverty rates in rural areas.
[00:14:04] The irony in this system is that many farmers who grow food for others struggle to afford to buy it themselves.
[00:14:17] Truly an American tragedy.
[00:14:20] People in our country, no matter who they are, their backgrounds or their employment status, should not struggle to put food in their mouths to feed themselves and their children.
[00:14:35] This is asinine on every level.
[00:14:37] We can and should do so much better when it comes to taking care of people in our country.
[00:14:45] If MAGA was half as concerned with taking care of the common man as much as they are with taking care of the uber wealthy, could you imagine?
[00:14:58] I mean, so let me be clear and I hope I have it is an American tragedy at what has taken place with the SNAP program and the refusal to provide assistance when it comes to feeding our fellow man in this country.
[00:15:18] But this is something that Republicans have been fighting against for a long time.
[00:15:24] They label such programs such as SNAP as entitlement programs and present them as huge wrongs to their supporters as massive avenues of wasteful spending, accusing people of being lazy and freeloaders.
[00:15:39] Yet they continue to pass legislation that are clearly entitlements to the top 1% wealthiest who I consider to be the biggest freeloaders in our country.
[00:15:55] MAGA has become a disease in our nation and we need to eradicate it as soon as we can before it kills us all.
